Is the Chlamydia and Gonorrhoea Combination Test right for me?
The combined Chlamydia and Gonorrhoea test is better value than buying two individual tests for each STI. It is the most popular test that we offer and is used by people who want to ensure that they do not have either of the two most common STIs. If you have any symptoms of an infection: redness, pain, a burning sensation when you pass urine, then we strongly recommend that you have a full STI screen so we can get to the root cause of your infection and treat you quickly.
How It Works
At Home Diagnostics you can quickly and easily order a sample kit and post it back to our laboratory where the sample will be analyzed. If your test is positive then we will can arrange for a partner clinic to organize the appropriate medication for you.
Is this test accurate?
Yes, the Chlamydia and Gonorrhoea dual screen that you will get through the post is basically the same test that you would be offered by any private GP. We use a lab called TDL Pathology, which is one of the leading pathology labs in the United Kingdom, so rest assured you will be in good hands.
What happens if the test comes back positive?
If you test positive for either Gonorrhoea or Chlamydia, or for both STIs, we will arrange for you to be prescribed the appropriate antibiotics to get rid of the infection. The medication will be sent to you by an overnight courier by a partner pharmacy, so you get your medication as soon as possible.
How long does it take?
Your kit will be sent out as soon as we receive your order. If you order the kit before the cut-off time Monday to Friday, it will be sent out on that day, using next day delivery, which means that you should get it the following morning. It normally takes about 24 hours to get the results back from the lab on the standard screen and any medication you require will be sent out next day delivery as well. You can upgrade to the 4 hour guaranteed screen if time is of the essence.
How long should I wait to be tested?
At Home Diagnostics we recommend that you get tested as soon as possible but please note that is can take two weeks for chlamydia to show up in a sample and 7 days for gonorrhea. If you get tested before 14 days after the point of infection, then the result may come back negative (even though you have actually been infected) so we would ask you to repeat the test.
