Gastrointestinal Pathogen Panel

This test comprises a PCR panel of bugs that can cause gastrointestinal infections. These bugs can cause vomiting and diarrhoea.

What is included on this test panel?

  • Astrovirus
  • Norovirus GI/GII
  • Rotavirus A
  • Sapovirus (GI, GII, GIV, GV)
  • C.difficile toxin A/B gene

How does it work?


When you purchase the test, we send you a sample collection kit for next day delivery. You take your stool (poo) sample at home and send it to our laboratory in the kit provided. The return by Royal Mail 24 Tracked is included in the price. This sample can be sent back from any Royal Mail box on the street - you do not have to take it to a post office.


How do I get my results?


Your lab report will be added to your Patient Dashboard along with an interpretation by a doctor. Results are normally available in 24 hours or so from the sample being booked in at the lab.
