What is the ALEX Allergy Test?

The ALEX Allergy panel measures the IgE response to 300 different allergens to determine what is causing an allergic response in patients. This test is a new generation of tests providing very accurate results from a small sample of blood. Only 400 - 600 mcl of blood is required for this test and is collected using a special device patients can use at home without the need for a professional blood draw from a vein.

Upgraded ALEX 3 Panel

Home Diagnostics is now using the recently upgraded ALEX allergy panel. This new version of the ALEX test covers 300 allergens. 117 allergens are unique to this panel, providing a comprehensive profile.

The test covers animal dander, venoms, eggs, legumes, milk, moulds mites, pollens, nuts and seafood. The report lists each of the 300 allergens separately with the IgE response.

How does the test work?

After you place your order, we will send you a special blood collection kit that is designed for patients to use at home. The kit can be sent to arrive the next day. Take your blood sample from a finger (as directed) and send the sample back to our laboratory. Testing takes 2 - 3 days. A doctor will interpret your result for you and we will provide a full PDF lab report.
