H. pylori Test

This test panel is a laboratory-based test with a high degree of accuracy. The test result comes with a full lab report in order to make access to treatment easier in the event of a postive result.

How does the test work?

When you purchase the test, we will send you a sample collection kit for next day delivery. You take your stool (poo) sample at home and send this back to our laboratory in the kit provided. Our kit includes the return envelope and Royal Mail 24 Tracked label. This can be sent back in a standard Royal Mail letter box - you do NOT have to take the package to a Post Office.

The lab tests for the H. pylori antigen in the sample. The presence of this antigen indicates an active H. pylori infection.

How do I get my results?

You will receive an email notification when your results are ready. Simply login to your account that you create when you make your first purchase with Home Diagnostics. When you login there will be a copy of your lab report with an interpretation from one of our UK doctors. The doctor providing the interpretation will be disclosed to you along with their GMC registration number.

Results generally take 2 days from the point your sample is booked in at the lab.

What if I need treatment?

In the event of a positive result, you will be directed to our partner clinic that can prescribe the medication for you online for next day delivery in the UK.

Are there any special instructions for this test?

Do not take the stool sample immediately if you have used antibiotics or a product containing Bismuth in the last 4 weeks, a proton pump inhibitor (such as Omeprazole) in the last 14 days, or a H2 blocker medication (such as Famotidine) in the last 4 days.
