Should I be tested for syphilis and herpes?
If you are suffering with either a lesion or a sore, then we can provide you with a swab to wipe across the affected area. We can then test it for herpes and syphilis in the laboratory.
The PCR test that we use can differentiate between herpes 1 and 2. The test normally takes 48 hours to complete.
If you do not have any lesions but would like to get tested for other STIs then we offer other tests, which might be more appropriate.
If you have had a lesion on a part of your body that is used for sexual activity that has already healed then we would recommend our STI Blood Screen.
What if I test positive?
If your test comes back positive for an infection then we are able to refer you to our partner clinic that will prescribe treatment free of charge if the infection is herpes. Any medication that you might need will be sent to you by next day delivery. Our partner clinics are able to send medication out to other EU countries as well as to the UK. If you test positive for Syphilis, you need to see a doctor face to face as the recommend antibiotic is delivered by way of an intramuscular injection.
Is the packaging discreet?
All the packaging we use at Home Diagnostics has no mention whatsoever of us on the outside, so there is absolutely no way that anyone will know what is inside the package. As an additional safeguard, everything that we send out is marked private and confidential.
