Mycoplasma Genitalium is a tiny bacterium that can colonize the urethra in men and the urethra and vagina in women. Mycoplasma Genitalium is an increasingly common sexually transmitted infection but testing is not available on the NHS.
It is possible to be tested for Mycoplasma Genitalium from a swab or urine sample.
